E*STAR CUBE (Centralized Underground Blasting Equipment) was specially designed and developed for most underground operations. The system enables remote blast initiation in underground operations using an existing Ethernet infrastructure. E*STAR CUBE can be used to initiate a complete E*STAR round or to start nonelectric rounds using an E*STAR detonator. However, it is not approved for use in underground coal mines where the environment may have air-methane or air-coal dust mixtures.
